Site Description

This site consists of mangrove swamp, beach vegetation, and 2,000 ha of sea (with coral reefs and large tracts of submarine limestone terraces). There are few rivers in the area. Erosion and accretion are occurring at a significant rate. The area is utilized by dolphins.
Principal vegetation: Mangal communities with Rhizophora mucronata, R. apiculata, R. conjugata, Avicennia sp, Bruguiera sp, Sonneratia alba, Nypa fruticans and Calophyllum urophyllum. |
