Site Description

Swamp and dry forests rich in species but heavily disturbed by illegal settlement. Abandonned as a reserve, approximately 30000 ha of forest remains. 15,000 ha of this is swamp forest, proposed for inclusion in the Kerumutan Baru reserve.
Principal vegetation: Peatswamp 15,000 ha. |

Located on the east coast of Sumatra the northern boundary of this site lies on the south bank of Sungai Kampar. The site ajoins that of the Kerumutan Baru reserve. |
