Site Description |

A small island of (predominantly Rhizophora) mangrove forest with a shallow brackish water lake which is linked to the sea at very low tides. The island is surrounded by mudflats with very sandy mudflats at the north and south. Local residents report that the mangrove forest is a breeding area for large waterbirds.
Principal vegetation: Mangrove forest with Avicennia as accreting species and Rhizophora dominating in the inland areas. |
