Site Description

Three small vulnerable areas of forested peatswamp with rivers and lakes. The rivers are inhabited by crocodiles and one of the lakes is particularly important to waterbird breeding.

Site Location |

| |
These three separate sites are situated in east-central Sumatra between Selat Panjang to the north, and Selat Kampar to the south. Danau Belat is approximately 6 km to the south again, and Sarung Burung lies between Besar Serkap and Selat Kampar. Minor roadway appears to link the Danau Belat site with Selat Panjang. |
