Excellent mangrove habitat along the mainland coast; of significant value to fauna; particularly birds, crocodiles and prawn fisheries.
Principal vegetation: 20,000 ha of mangrove forest, 40,000 ha of peatswamp forest. |

This site is located on the eastern coast of Sumatra in Riau Province, Kabupaten Bengkalis. Pulau Rupat, the most northern major island on this coast, lies to the north. Approximately 15 km to the north east is Dumai, and Sungai Pelentung is nearby. |
